The Molo Angioino under construction at Naples, Italy

The Molo Angioino under construction at Naples, Italy. The photographer is looking west-north-west from on board an outward bound Italian vessel whose ensign dominates the left foreground. Scaffolding is around the main structure of the Molo Angioino which was completed in 1936. Berthed alongside the old Beverello Quay is a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship, either the Strathnaver (1931) or the Strathaird (1932). On the hill in the background is the Castel Sant Elmo.
