The photographer is on the port side of the promenade deck amidships looking forward over the ship's rail showing the forward motor lifeboat suspended in its falls ready for deployment. The negative is captioned Oie, which is a settlement at the head of Norangfjord and it is assumed that the ship is either approaching or leaving Oie.
