The Hotel Formentor on the Cap de Formentor on the north side of Pollenza Bay, Mallorca, Balearic Islands. The photographer is looking east-north-east from on board a lifeboat from the Orient line passenger cruise ship Orford (1928) which is anchored out in the bay. The exclusive Hotel Formentor was completed 1929-1930 and a new wing is under construction at the west end of the hotel. Four boats are by the hotel's landing stage.
