The entrance to Mandraki harbour at Rhodes. The photographer is on the west breakwater looking east showing the two statues on limestone pillars on either side of the harbour entrance. On the end of the west breakwater is a stag and on the east breakwater is the she-wolf of Rome with Romulus and Remus suckling from her. A Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company motor lifeboat is entering the harbour laden with passengers. In the background is Agios Nikolaos fortress and lighthouse.
