In the colonnades of the Governor's Palace on the east side of the New Town next to Mandraki harbour, Rhodes. The palace was built in 1927 and the photographer is looking east-by-north through one of the arches. At anchor in the background and seen from well ahead of her starboard beam is the Orient Line passenger cruise ship Orion (1935). The image of the ship is not sharp.
