An unidentified coastal location in Greek waters, almost certainly on one of the Aegean Islands. The photographer is looking along the coast showing a settlement with buildings right down to the water's edge. it is washing day and clothes are draped over a stone wall in the foreground. The settlement is on a small headland and includes at least two churches. The foot of a sail attached to a boom is in the top left corner of the picture. The location was originally described at Santorini but this settlement is definitely not anywhere on Santorini Island, Greece.
