Greenwich or Rotherhithe, possibly in snow
A loose sketch of an industrial London riverfront with lighters and barges moored along it and a lighter in the river in the foreground, under sweeps and sail. It was previously titled 'Greenwich in snow' but this could be a misreading of the materials and technique, while a 'gazebo' on one of the buildings, right, might also indicate a view towards Rotherhithe. At present the location has to be regarded as uncertain, though Wyllie was staying at the Ship Hotel, Greenwich, in January 1924 to sketch and it may have been done then: see PAF1305.
