Pencil sketches for preparatory drawings
A sheet of rough pencil sketches in preparation for detailed sketches. The left sketch is a round shield that has a number of weapons appearing from behind it – including swords, fire, a quiver of arrows, a bow. The top right sketch is an outline of stylised curled palm frond with two further curved lines abutting each other. Below this is an outline for a possible upper or lower trail-board cheek, which usually has scroll or patterned additions to make it part of the overall figurehead design.
