A view along the port side of HMS Cornwall looking aft towards a formal dance on the quarterdeck.
An elevated view along the port side of the armoured cruiser HMS Cornwall (1902) towards a formal dance taking place on the quarterdeck. The deck has been covered with a large awning and ensigns have been tied and weighted at regular intervals, suspended from the awning wires. The photographer was standing at the height of the after twin gun turret. A large number of elegantly dressed women with naval officers are on the deck in conversation groups.
