Flint
A relic of Sir John Franklin's last expedition 1845-8. Flint found near Ross Cairn, Point Victory, King William Island on 2nd June 1859 by the McClintock Search Expedition 1857-9. Found by William Jones, the dog driver of Hobson's party. The flint is shaped and polished and the steel has a curved handle.
