The British sailors and officers stand futher away from the camera, with more school girls and Japanese women amongst them. The group are in an outdoor space with trees around and behind them. Several other figures, including a Japanese women holding an umbrella, can be seen at the edges of the photograph. A row of what may be railings are visible on the right side of the imag. eOriginal caption (offensive): '243. We then amused ourselves with Jap Schoolgirls at the Zoo Gardens, Kyoto, Japan.'
