Life size studies of ragwort

Two detailed sketches of flowers in graphite, with shading and light hatching. Next to the sketch on the left the annotation reads: “rag worth. Natural size or nearly centre rather longer than petals. Leaves rather a cold greyish green. They have about 16 petals.” Dated 29th July 76. Next to the sketch on the right, the annotations read: “petals much the same at centre of rag worth. 1/ White down calyx slightly fluffy, stalks hard and grooved and green. Dated 30th July 76”.
