Pages from Charles Knight's 'Old England: A Pictorial Museum'

These pages are almost certainly from Charles Knight's 'Old England: a Pictorial Museum'. They were presumably included in the Herschel's prints and drawings collection rather than kept with the rest of the book in their library because of the books emphasis on its illustrations. The text here acts as a means of appreciating the illustrations rather than the other way round and would perhaps have been used in the teaching of either art or history to the younger generation of Herschels. The illustrations include medieval castles, palaces, colleges and chapels, but also kings and queens, earls and dukes.
