No. 39 in Fanshawe's Baltic and later album, 1843 - 83. Captioned incompletely by the artist on the album page below the image, as title. Another view of the Bernina Range of south-eastern Switzerland (with PAI4710). Piz Bernina is 4049 metres; Piz Scerscen, 3971; Piz Sella, 3511; Piz Glüschaint, 3594. The Tschierva Glacier is that in the centre of the picture, the Roseg to the right.

Fanshawe retired from active service, aged 65, in November 1879 and this is one of a group of drawings done on holiday in Switzerland the following year (PAI4709 - 4712).
