Sea Service Pistol

Sea Service pistol. The stock is made of walnut and is fully stocked to muzzle. It is fitted with a brass trigger guard and brass buttcap. A single brass ramrod pipe is fitted forward of the fore-end into which the wooden ramrod with brass tip is fitted. It has a steel trigger with a slight backward curl. A steel belt hook is fitted to the side of the stock. The lock is a sidelock, flintlock. The circular barrel is smoothbore. Its calibre is 0.56in. Inscribed on the lockplate is 'TOWER Crown' over 'GR'. Inscribed on the barrel is 'Crown' over 'GR' over an anchor. Inscribed on the stock is 'II P', along with a crown over an arrow over '1806'.
