Hamilton of the Honble Comps Armed Schooner Alert for his service in preventing the escape of L'Hirondelle French privateer in Decbr 1801 by the Calcutta Insce Office Calcutta Insce Company Calcutta Phenix Insce Society Asiatic Insurance Company & Hindostan Insce Society'. Two piece construction with an engraved gilt brass mask and carrying handle. Similar inscription to above printed on gold coloured paper secured into rear glazed panel of clock case.
