Counter commemorating King Charles I and Henrietta Maria. Obverse: Busts conjoined (right) of Charles I and his queen. Charles is wearing lace ruff, doublet and riband for medal. Henrietta Maria wears deep lace collar with frill in front and head piece (very small hat worn forward). Legend: 'CAROLUS . ET . MARIA . DG . MAG . BRIT . FRAN & HIB REX & REG.' Reverse: Stuart Royal Arms impaled with three fleur-de-lis, crown above, and garter surrounds (motto 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE'). The whole surrounded by laurel wreath.
