Lake Erie (1899)
Scale 1:48. A plan showing the sheer lines, body and longitudinal half-breadth of the Lake Erie (1899), a cargo liner.
There is some confusion concerning the name of this vessel. The yard number given for this ship is 420. However, the Fairfield List supplies the name 'Victoria' for that hull number. This vessel was employed as a troopship during the Boer War under the name Lake Erie. The drawing itself is not dated, however, and offers no other clues. Comparisons with contemporary photographs have confirmed that the vessel depicted on the drawing is the Lake Erie.
