Letter from Ernest Shackleton to Captain Howson.

A letter written on official 'Discovery Antarctic Expedition 1901' headed paper from Ernest Shackleton to Captain Howson, dated 30 September 1902, addressed from Winter Quarters, Mount Erebus. The accompanying envelope is addressed to Captain J. Howson, R.N.R. and was sent via the Antarctic Relief Ship 'from Discovery'. The London postmark is dated 18th May (19)03.

This collection also Includes a small photograph possibly of Shackleton, a note with a prayer written on it and a modern envelope which notes 'Shackleton's letter to your Grandfather 1902'.
