Letter from Kathleen Scott to Lady Sandhurst.

Letter by Kathleen Scott to Lady Sandhurst noting the recent death of Captain, Sir Robert F. Scott (her husband) in 1911/12, gifting her a tiepin (ZBA7522). The letter is not dated, but refers to the contents of Robert Falcon Scott's final letter, which did not reach Kathleen until after his body was found in 1913. The tiepin was part of the property recovered from Robert's body, and Kathleen wants Lady Sandhurst to have it as Robert mentions her (and Lady Baxter, another friend) in his last letter "at the very end". Kathleen also talks about the forthcoming publication of her deceased husband's journal, describing it as "the most beautiful thing I have ever read". Item contains 1 sheet of thick paper printed with Kathleen Scott's address and written on both sides, plus an envelope with no postal marks (delivered by hand).
