Letter from John Franklin to Mr Stilwell about paying Captain Huggins for the supplies they took from HMS BARETTO JUNIOR.

Letter written by John Franklin on board HMS EREBUS to Messrs Stilwell & Sons, 22 Arundel Street, Strand, London, 8 July 1845 asking that they pay Mr Huggins, Captain of the transport ship HMS BARETTO JUNIOR who was kind enough to part with all the supplies he would spare. It also mentions that the voyage so far had been good and that they are proceeding northwards immediately. Attached is the original envelope with wax seal. Also included is an envelope with the words 'the late Sir John Franklin' containing a letter with 22 Arundel Street engraved into it with note about part of the flag found in the boat by Captain Francis Leopold McClintock at Montreal Island.
