Letter from Mr Hornsby to the Reverend Dr Barrington, dated 28 January 1765, on the advantages of determining the longitudes and latitudes of the British Isles.

Letter from Mr Hornsby to the Honourable and Reverend Dr Barrington, Canon of Christ Church, dated 28 January 1765, asked him to represent to Lord Barrington on his behalf re: the advantage that may result from 'settling the longitudes & latitudes of the principal capes & forelands etc of the British Isles, whether by an actual survey of the whole Kingdom, or by sending Mr Harrison's watch round the Island, if that watch should ever become the property of the Public'.
