Minion RR9 (1872)
Scale 1:8. A plan showing the sheer lines with overlaid body and longitudinal half-breadth of the bawley Minion RR9 (1872).
"She was built in 1872 and was worked for most of her life here on the Medway by her owner; in his latter life she lay on a mooring up near Chatham & Strood, as could be understood he was reluctant to sell her so she got worse and worse and he finally sold her to Neil for the required, 1£. She was towed down to the "Clubs Anchorage" and placed in a mud berth... believe during her construction a part of the deadwood of the original "Minion" was built into her so claiming her original build date of 1872" [quote from e-mail dated 7 April 2009 by Ted Penny]
