Fredrick North's career

A half bound leather album with a loose spine containing 137 albumen prints of various sizes measuring up to 292mm x 190mm, pasted onto 64 pages. Most of the images have been captioned in ink. The photographs are generally in poor condition. There are botanical specimens pressed between the leaves. This album documents Fredrick North's career from around 1884-1893, mostly relating to his career onboard HMS Revenge (1859) and HMS.Nelson (1876). There are also topographical photographs of: Austrailia, Ascension, Bermuda, Fiji, Mauritius, New York, New Hebrides, New Zealand, Niagara, Quebec, Queensland, St.Lucia, Tahiti.
A track chart showing the course of HMS Alert 1878-1882 is included.
