Small, silver-cased ladies wrist watch, with digital display. Swiss, imported to U.K. c1932.
Narrow, nickel, high quality going barrel movement, with 17 jewels and marked on the barrel bridge: “17 JEWELS / SWISS MADE”. The movement has a jewelled club-tooth lever escapement and a bimetal compensation balance with flat spiral balance spring and polished steel index for regulation, marked: “A/F” (Avance/Fast) and: “R/S” (Retard/Slow).
Digital dials with arabic numerals for hours and minutes shown through small celluloid-covered windows in the front of the case, the hours above (on a jumper action), the minutes below.
Silver case, the outside of the back stamped with import hallmarks for Glasgow 1931/32, the sponsor’s cameo mark: “SD”, “SWISS MADE” and: “578346”.
The movement, dials and case are in fine condition overall, except that the balance staff is broken, and the watch is not working.
