E. H. Shackleton's dog

A portrait photograph of E H Shackleton's sledging dog standing at a slight angle to the camera. The dog is in harness ready for the sledging journey. Ironically, Shackleton was not good with the sledging dogs, and never learnt to operate with them effectively.
