Clay pipe
Clay pipe reputed to have belonged to William Bligh (1754-1817). It is doubtful that it accompanied him in the 'Bounty' or on the subsequent boat voyage. The only reason to suppose it might have is that has been carefuly preserved, since 'clays' like this were for short-term use only and regular replacement, apart from being very easily broken.
