Launching casket
Launching casket of HMS 'Neptune' 1909. An oak box carved with Neptune in a chariot drawn by seahorses accompanied by a triton. The sides of the box are carved with flowers and foliage. The interior is lined with blue velvet. Inscribed on a brass plate on the front of the casket: 'HMS Neptune launched at Portsmouth by HRH the Duchess of Albany.'
