Join Hackney Herbal for an introduction to the healing properties of a range of medicinal plants. The workshop will guide you through a number of culinary, medicinal and wild herbs and how to combine them into unique blends.

As part of the session you'll make a set of herbal tea bags to take home. The session will include:

  • A tea tasting at the start of the session
  • The health benefits, properties and cultural histories of a mix of common and lesser-known herbs
  • Creating remedies suited to the seasons
  • How to mix different dried herbs together to create herbal tea blends
  • Themes include digestion, immune health, stress, relaxation and sleep

About Hackney Herbal

Hackney Herbal is a garden-based social enterprise that promotes wellbeing by connecting people with herbs through creative and nature-based activities. Hackney Herbal was established in 2015 to show people how to grow and incorporate herbs into their lifestyles, for health and improved wellbeing, as well as to show people how abundant herbs are in urban areas, whether that be in private, public and/or community gardens.

To fund their community work, they sell a range of unique hand-packed herbal tea blends and run hands-on workshops that teach people how to use herbs for their own health.
