In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

An Order in Council announces that an allowance of twenty shillings per man is to be made for the manning of ships destined for service in the Channel subject to certificates being obtained from the Commanders or Lieutenants etc of Ships and Tenders on which Men are being assembled. A further allowance of twelve pence per mile is to be made for Men recruited from places more than twenty miles from the ports to which they are sent, together with an extra ten shillings for men recruited in Westminster and the City of London provided they join by the 10th of April coming. Orders are to be given putting the scheme into effect.
