In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Samuel Staples, late Carpenter of the RUBY prize, is to be appointed Master Carpenter of the new 4th Rate building at Mr Wells's yard at Rotherhithe. You are directed to enter him accordingly together with such allowance of wages and victuals for himself and servant as is proper. His warrant is to be dated 9 November 1696.
