Ulukhaktok (traditional spelling Ulukhaqtuuq, and known until 1 April 2006 as Holman) is a small hamlet on the coast of Victoria Island, where printmaking has taken over as the main source of income for the inhabitants. The artwork is described by Ivy M. Sharp in her diary (NOT/44/1) as “extremely primitive pictures at exorbitant prices”.
