Letters from John Short to Ella Ambrose July to September 1936.
On 3rd July, Short is aboard SS RANPURA, on the Red Sea. He is enjoying the voyage very much, relaxing, playing games and reading, although being only days from seeing Ambrose again, he is getting impatient. He expects to arrive in England on the 17th July. The next letter is dated 22nd July, and Short is in Newcastle with his parents, having spent a few days reuniting with Ambrose. He updates her on family news. On 31st August he writes from the Isle of Wight, having just started a new job as a draughtsman. The couple see each other at the weekends, and continue writing letters during the week throughout September.
