In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
No date recorded. Enclosure: Copy of a letter relating how the Crews of the NORWICH and the LYNN Prizes were abused by their Captains when diverting from Barbados to the Leeward Isles to cut timber for non military purposes. The account continues by describing the many passages made by the ships between islands and the eventual casting overboard of a number of Men who had died. Sails had been cut up to make tents and ships guns had been placed in the hold in order for timber to be stowed between decks.
