Diary of Laurence Richard Oliphant, 1898-1915.

Notebook containing a diary kept by Laurence Richard Oliphant in the period 1898-1915. It covers his service on the cruiser HMS CRESCENT (1892), commanded by the Duke of York (later King George V), 8 June to 21 August 1898; destroyer HMS ZEBRA (1895), 15 July to 4 August 1901; and depot ship HMS LEANDER (1882) based at Devonport with the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla and then at Scapa Flow, 1 April 1914 to 23 January 1915. Naval signals, entertainment programmes, cricket scores, poems, and newspaper cuttings are included.
