Letter to Mundy from his father General Godfrey Basil Meynell Mundy, dated 4 May 1847. It starts with a copy of a letter sent on behalf of Viscount Palmerston, Foreign Secretary, dated 16 April 1847. This acknowledges receipt of General Mundy’s letter concerning his son’s report on the treaty made with the Sultan of Brunei and his taking possession of the island of Labuan. Mundy's father later discusses the death of his brother-in-law Captain Hon. John Rodney on 9 April in the same year.
