Correspondence between Lecky, Philip Allan, and Mr Medley. Allan has concluded that taking on the production of the 'The King's Ships' would be loss-making. Although Lecky is not keen on the idea, both Allan and Medley believe that forming a syndicate to cover the costs, and getting the backing of the King, offer the best hope of getting the remaining volumes published.
