Series of letters relating to the appointment of Mr John Campbell Lees to the position of Deputy Receiver of Greenwich Hospital Monies in the Bahama Islands. A brief description of the letters follows: (1) Letter from H. M. Dyer to Sir Thomas asking that his relation Mr John Campbell Lees be appointed Deputy Receiver of Greenwich Hospital in the Bahamas, with a reply from Sir Thomas confirming Lees’ appointment; (2) Letter from H. M. Dyer to Sir John Colpoys regarding Lees’ appointment; (3) and (4) Letters from Mr Dyer and John Campbell Lees respectively thanking Sir Thomas Thompson for Lees’ appointment; (5) Letter to Sir Thomas from Alex Murray, asking why he has been replaced by Mr Lees as Deputy Receiver; (6) Note to the Treasurer’s office at Greenwich stating that Murray’s agent Mr Dunscomb had informed the Hospital that Murray had resigned and had asked to be appointed in his place; (7) Letter from Sir Thompson to Murray telling him that his agent Mr Dunscomb had informed the Hospital that Murray had resigned.
