A brief description of the letters follows: (1) and (2) Letter to Sir Thomas from Stewart Marjoribanks, enclosing a letter from his nephew David Marjoribanks, offering his services as broker to Greenwich Hospital, since the current brokers, Messrs Walter & Thomas, have defaulted at the Stock Exchange; (3) and (4) Letters from Stewart and David Marjoribanks to Sir Thomas Thompson thanking him for appointing Messrs Marjoribanks & Co brokers of Greenwich Hospital; (5) Letter from George Walter to Sir Thompson, asking him to reconsider his decision to appoint new brokers. Includes a reply written on the back of the letter from Sir Thompson confirming his decision.
