Letters to 2nd Earl of Shelburne, February 1781 to December 1781.
A series of letters from John Jervis covering the conduct of troops due to lack of discipline leading to drunkenness, plunder and disorderly behaviour. Jervis also gives his opinion on the French troops noting that the French were in greater numbers then was suspected and that Admiral Richard Kempenfelt on the ROYAL GEORGE was cut off from the convoy and unaware of the superiority of the Enemy.
