A letter from Nelson congratulating his captains.

A letter from Nelson congratulating his captains on 3 August 1798, two days after the Battle of the Nile. This letter is addressed to James Saumarez, captain of the ORION. The captains evidently agreed with Nelson, meeting on the ORION 2 days after the battle, agreeing to form a club to commemorate the victory, and commissioning ceremonial swords.
