A letter from Nelson to Alexander Davison.
An autograph letter from Nelson to Alexander Davison, 13 October 1805, with a blank sheet of paper and envelope. In the letter Nelson expresses regret at not having seen Davison on his last stint of leave and underlines his preparedness for the coming battle. Written 9 days before his death, this was Nelson’s last letter to his close friend and Prize Agent. Davison provided much support to Emma and Nelson’s remaining family after Nelson's death. (Published in Nicholas ‘Dispatches and Letters’, Vol VII, 118-9).
