Letters and report from Ronald Peers Williams describing the internment and later scuttling of the German High Seas Fleet

Two letters from Ronald Peers Williams to his parents describing the internment of the German High Seas Fleet from the perspective of a midshipman in HMS REVENGE. Administrative / biographical background
Ronald Peers Williams was born 2 December 1899 in Devon. He joined the Royal Navy as a midshipman in 1918 beginning with service in HMS REVENGE. Following service in HMS ORION he was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant in 1920. He went on to serve in HMS CAROLINE and SHERBORNE and was recommended for promotion but was instead transferred to the emergency list in November 1921. He died on 13 November 1968. His service record is held at The National Archives under reference ADM 196/148/184.
