The personal journal of Richard Cater, Mate, on the transport ship ASSISTANCE, commanded by John. C. Wood, in service delivering supplies to naval facilities from Deptford to Bristol and on convoy duty to Gibraltar in 1812 and to Halifax in 1813. Log then kept as acting master of the DEPTFORD transport, in the same service to English ports from 18 June 1814 to 29 December 1814.
