Saville was born at Mount Merrion in Ireland in 1891. She trained and qualified as a hospital nurse in Dublin before enrolling in the WRNS in July 1918. After completion of her officer training at Crystal Palace in August 1918, she served at Shortlands Hostel at RNAS Polegate in Sussex. From October 1918 she was in charge of WRNS working at the naval barracks, sick quarters and transport office at Newhaven Naval Base. She was transferred to Miller’s Hostel at Portsmouth in February 1919. She was demobilized in September 1919 and married in the following month. (See service record reference ADM 318/305 at TNA)
