Contract/receipt from Virginia, United States, dated 1 January 1834, for the hire of an enslaved man named 'Phill for the duration of 1 year' by Willis Wootten Junior and John Bailey from Francis B Whiting, Guardian of PCL Burwell for 1834, at a cost of $15 25c. Credit note from Lynchburg Savings Bank – 75c dated December 21 1861, State of North Carolina 5c dated October 1st 1861. A series of short poems are also on the scrapbook page.
