Letter (with 2 original enclosures), Kingston, Jamaica, 30 Jun 1785. Carried by Scipio (an enslaved man) from the Blue Mountain Estate to Kingston. Enclosures include: (i) a list of the names, state and jobs of the 458 enslaved individuals employed on the Blue Mountain Estate as of 1 January 1785, also with details of the cane crop and the land ( in two parts); and (ii) a report on the overall condition of the Estate from William Sutherland, dated 30 June 1785. The letter is mounted on card with a photocopy of the register showing Scipio's occupation, health details, etc.
