Copied transcript of letter from Mrs J.B. Thayer, TITANIC survivor, to President Taft
Letter describes memories of Major Butt, aide to President Taft, who died in the TITANIC disaster.

Marian Longstreth Morris (1872-1944) had married John Borland Thayer, who became a Director and Second Vice President of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, in 1892. The Thayers were travelling with thier maid, Margaret Fleming, and their son. Thayer did not survive. Archibald Willingham DeGraffenreid Clarendon Butt (1865-1912) was an American Army Officer and aide to Presidents Roosevelt and Taft.
