The copy of the letter was sent to James MacQuitty, in 1956, by Frank Johnston.

Administrative / biographical background
Alfred White (1880-1922) was a greaser on the TITANIC and was rescued by lifeboat four, after being pulled from the water. Rev.M. Langley was the brother-in-law of Willam Henry March Parr (1882-1912), an assistant manager in Harland and Wolff's electricians' deparment, was one of the nine-strong "guarantee group" of Harland and Wolff employees chosen to oversee the smooth running of the TITANIC's maiden voyage.
