Journal kept by Stewart as a midshipman on the corvette HMS BOADICEA (1875), flagship on the East Indies station, between 15 August 1894 and 26 September 1894; the cruiser HMS BONAVENTURE (1892), flagship on the East Indies station, between 26 September 1894 and 12 September 1895; and the corvette HMS ACTIVE (1869) in the Training Squadron, between 12 September 1895 and 12 February 1896.
